New 336,000 Square-Foot Office Tower
21-Story Building Will Be Among Tallest in San Jose
A gleaming 21-story tower in downtown San Jose is planned for 8 East San Fernando. When completed, the new 336,000-square-foot building will be among the tallest in the city.
The Class-A office tower will be built on a one-acre site under contract to RGDC and development partner Kimball Small Properties, a San Jose-based commercial real estate developer. RGDC and Kimball Small have formed a partnership to develop the building.
The 21-story office tower was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill to give the look and feel of a tall, slender building in what is generally a low and squat environment. The building will contain six parking levels to hold up to 800 cars. Devcon Construction, Inc., will serve as the general contractor for the building. Kimball Small Properties guided the project through the design and permit process.
A significant portion of the building is expected to be pre-leased when construction begins. Cushman & Wakefield, the global real estate services firm, will serve as the exclusive leasing agent for the building.
