Rockefeller Group Development Corporation To Build Business Park in Chandler, Arizona
Company Continues to Acquire Southwest Properties
IRVINE, CA, September 5, 2006 Rockefeller Group Development Corporation (RGDC), through its regional office in Irvine, CA, has acquired 76 acres of vacant land at the northwest corner of Gilbert Road and Queen Creek Road in Chandler, AZ, a suburb of Phoenix. An 866,000 square-foot business park is planned at the location, consisting of 19 single-story concrete buildings for office, commercial and light industrial use.
“This is The Rockefeller Group’s first entrance into the Phoenix marketplace as we continue our strategic focus on the Southwestern United States,” said Tom McCormick, SIOR, Senior Vice President, Development, for Rockefeller Group Development Corporation. “Over the past ten to twelve years, the Phoenix area has become one of the fastest growing regions in the country, and we feel that a business park is a perfect fit for the community.”
The site in Chandler is in close proximity to Route 10, the southernmost east-west, coast-to-coast interstate highway in the United States. The location is an excellent site for a business park composed of both distribution and office space.
The aesthetics of the site were a point The Rockefeller Group will address in regard to the site. “Making this area pleasing to look at is definitely part of our plans,” says McCormick. “The buildings will be concrete tilt-up construction with liberal use of glass to provide abundant natural light and views. The site will also be meticulously landscaped with public seating areas, two lakes, lighting and monument signage.”
Paul Sieczowski, SIOR, Rob Martensen, CCIM and Phil Breidenbach, SIOR of Colliers International represented The Rockefeller Group on the transaction. The project will be completed in 2009.
