US Department of Veterans Affairs Selects Rockefeller Group Development Corporation to Build Community Based Outpatient Clinic
Build-to-Suit will be located at Seagate Corporate Center in Oceanside, CA
IRVINE, CA, June 11, 2008 Rockefeller Group Development Corporation (RGDC), through its regional office in Irvine, CA, has been selected by the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) as the exclusive developer of a new medical outpatient clinic for the Veterans Health Administration, to be constructed at Seagate Corporate Center in Oceanside, Calif. The new medical clinic will provide a state-of-the-art center for treating veterans located in North San Diego County.
“The Rockefeller Group is incredibly honored to have been chosen by the US Department of Veterans Affairs for this project,” said Tom McCormick, SIOR, Senior Vice President Development for Rockefeller Group Development Corporation. “We are confident that we can move this project along swiftly so that it will be up and running as soon as possible to serve the brave men and women who have risked their lives in service to our nation.”
RGDC will build an 80,000-square-foot, 2-story medical clinic on lots 1, 2 and 12 at the west end of Seagate Corporate Center. John Buckel of Capital Partners Development Company will serve as the project development manager. Construction is scheduled to begin during the fourth quarter of 2008, with completion targeted for the third quarter of 2010.
Ron King, SIOR, and David Onosko, Senior Vice Presidents with Coldwell Banker Commercial Almar Group ONCOR International, are the exclusive leasing agents for Seagate Corporate Center. Carpenter/Robbins Commercial Real Estate, Inc. represented the VA in the transaction.
“Seagate Corporate Center is the ideal build-to-suit location for this vital development project. Not only does it offer ample acreage to accommodate the facility, it is located in close proximity to Camp Pendleton, allowing easy access for the Marines who have suffered a large number of the casualties in Iraq and Afghanistan,” said Mr. King.
“The City of Oceanside has been extremely responsive and is working closely with the The Rockefeller Group to facilitate the completion of this much needed facility,” said Mr. Onosko.
