A Special Place in History
The 48-story Time & Life Building, developed by The Rockefeller Group in partnership with Time Inc., holds a special place in Rockefeller Center history. Its opening in 1959 marked the start of Rockefeller Center’s expansion to the west side of Avenue of the Americas.

Designed by Harrison Abramovitz & Harris,the building features numerous functional and aesthetic amenities, including a broad plaza and an inviting fountain pool.


Headquarters for World Leaders
In 1999 Time Inc. signed a long-term lease to renew its space and expand its presence. Time Inc.’s renewal was the largest real estate transaction signed in New York City in 1999.
The building is also headquarters for The Interpublic Group, now the world’s largest advertising company. Other tenants include Fieldcrest Cannon, Hay Group, and Milstein Properties Corp.
Around-the-Clock Nerve Center
As home to Time, Fortune, Sports Illustrated, People, Money, and other magazines, the Time & Life Building has long been an around-the-clock nerve center for international media.

Elegant Route to Convenience
The underground Rockefeller Center Concourse gives tenants weatherproof access to subways and hundreds of shops and services. In 1989, The Rockefeller Group completed a dramatic upgrade to the western span of the Concourse.
