Edgar Jones is Vice President and Regional Development Officer of Southern Operations for Rockefeller Group Development Corporation. In this capacity, Mr. Jones is responsible for marketing, lease operations, and development of the firm’s current projects in Florida. He is also responsible for identifying new opportunities. His current Florida development responsibilities include a build-to-suit project in Miramar, Broward County, Florida; a mixed-use development in Miramar; an office project in downtown Fort Lauderdale; an office/retail project in Orlando; and a distribution project in Central Florida .
Before joining The Rockefeller Group in 2001, Mr. Jones served as Office Services Group Vice President and Unit Manager for Grubb & Ellis, Inc. in Miami, Florida. He has been active in the real estate business in South Florida for over 35 years, having managed the regional office of Cushman & Wakefield of Fla., Inc., for six years. He was also in charge of the marketing and leasing of a major mixed-use project developed in a joint venture with Prudential Insurance Company.
Mr. Jones is a member of several real estate industry and business organizations, including the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks and the Institute of Real Estate Management, through which he holds the designation of Certified Property Manager. Mr. Jones is a licensed real estate and mortgage broker. He serves on the Real Estate Advisory Board (past President) and the Executive Committee for the University of Florida Bergstrom Center for Real Estate Studies.
Mr. Jones shares his leadership skills with other community organizations as well: the Board of Governors of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Directors of the Orange Bowl Committee (past President), the Easter Seal Society (past President), the College Assistance Program (past President), the Riviera County Club (past Vice President), and the Jackson Memorial Foundation (Treasurer). He holds a BA degree from Stetson University.
Mr. Jones heads the regional office of Rockefeller Group Development Corporation based in Miami, Florida.
